- Generate monthly commission statements and collaborate with Finance to ensure proper accruals and timely disbursements.
- Partner with Data Engineering and Product to ensure data accuracy across the policy admin system, accounting platform, and internal dashboards.
- Build and maintain controls to ensure integrity in billing and reporting workflows, especially across split payments, cancellations, and endorsements.
- Respond to partner audits and inquiries, providing detailed reconciliations and documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying areas to automate or streamline processes (e.g., billing logic, reporting templates, reconciliation tools).
- Support quarter-end and year-end close with validated insurance and commission data tied to general ledger accounts.
- 3+ year experience in insurance operations, finance, or billing—preferably at an MGA, carrier, or broker.
- Strong working knowledge of surplus lines insurance, premium billing cycles, and agency commission structures.
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, modeling); working knowledge of SQL is a plus.
- Experience with reporting systems and reconciliation processes across multiple data sources.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Self-starter comfortable building processes in a high-growth environment.
- Prior experience with tools/systems like One Inc, Guidewire, or other policy administration platforms.
- Familiarity with Stripe, QuickBooks, or other financial tools used for insurance billing and reconciliation.
- Exposure to reinsurance structures and reporting obligations.
- Competitive salary plus equity stock options
- Flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States
- Unlimited PTO, including sick leave and company holidays
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance (25% paid by employee, 75% covered by Delos including dependents)
