Position Overview

We are seeking a Compliance Manager to lead and execute compliance operations across the organization. This role will oversee regulatory processes, filings, surplus lines activities, compliance reporting, and licensing functions. You will also provide day-to-day direction to one or more compliance analysts, while helping shape the future structure of the compliance organization.

This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, thrives in building processes, and enjoys collaborating cross-functionally to drive a strong compliance culture. The role has significant growth potential as we expand into additional states with the expectation that the Compliance Manager will contribute to the foundation of a future Legal & Compliance department.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day compliance operations for Delos’s E&S insurance business.
• Oversee surplus lines reporting and filings, DOI compliance requirements, and licensing lifecycle management.
• Track regulatory changes across active and expansion states; coordinate implementation activities with internal teams.
• Develop and maintain documentation, reporting, dashboards, and audit-ready records for regulatory oversight.
• Provide guidance and training to internal teams on compliance requirements and best practices.
• Work closely with third-party compliance vendors, as well as internal teams using InsuranceNow, HubSpot, AgentSync, and our proprietary platforms.
• Contribute to building scalable compliance processes and workflows as the business grows.
• Spearhead compliance initiatives and team development.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of compliance experience in the insurance industry, ideally within E&S/surplus lines.
• Strong understanding of surplus lines regulation, state DOI requirements, and compliance filings.
• Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring compliance staff preferred.
• Outstanding attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret and operationalize regulatory requirements, ensuring business alignment.
• Excellent communication skills - able to effectively explain compliance impacts to cross-functional partners.
• Experience with compliance technology tools and workflow automation.
• Bonus: Experience with contract review, paralegal background, or legal exposure.
